SOFT - Simple, Open, FOSS Tools
The distro you use after Arch pisses you off. Rolling and stable, reproducible, beatiful.
Based in the EU (Slovakia). Second Slovak distro. First of its kind.
Redrose Linux is a modern Linux distribution focused on simplicity without dumbing things down.
The core aims are to be FOSS-only and dev-friendly. We are based in Slovakia, and are the second ever distro from Slovakia. Note that the distro before us is discontinued.
You might also remember us as "Minixor Linux" and "Crust Project". The name was changed to Redrose Linux in October-November 2025.
This project was my dream ever since I was 8 years old, and what finally made me start doing it was a Linux shell. I started building a Linux distro around it, and this is the result.
Core components and tooling developed as part of the Redrose ecosystem.
A desktop enviroment built on top of i3 - lightweight and powerful.
NimOur package manager that uses a manifest file that is simpler than the PKGBUILDs on the AUR. See an example package
Python (i know, yes)Control your system, reproduce it with a single file and backup your files on a self-hosted server.
NimOur custom installer built with C. Just too many distros use Calamares.
CYou should probably know what is this thing.
There is definitely much more to come, this is not everything we have ever made.
